Lori Counts Headshot 2

Lori Counts, FAHP, CFRE

Lori has more than 30 years of experience in fund development and has started development efforts for two healthcare systems from inception to maturity; one, a community-based system and the other, a large pediatric system spanning multiple states. As an accomplished development executive and certified executive coach, her areas of expertise include: Executive leadership, staff and board leadership training, cross-disciplinary collaboration, strategic planning and execution, major donor portfolio management and capital campaign fundraising.

She has been a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy for more than 20 years and is a frequent conference presenter. Most recently, she presented a session on enhancing the board experience from selection to on-boarding to actual board engagement at the 2019 International Conference for the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.

For 13 years, she was the  Operational Vice President for Nemours Children’s Health System. Prior to Nemours she served as Vice President for Development at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Previously she was head of Development for Upper Chesapeake Health in Bel Air, MD, Director of Development for Harford Day School, Bel Air, MD and Development Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive and holds a Master’s in Communication Arts from the University of Cincinnati.

She is presently principal consultant and executive coach for Accordant Philanthropy.  Accordant Philanthropy focuses exclusively on healthcare philanthropy working with philanthropy professionals and healthcare leaders to help create a platform for innovation, collaboration and custom-tailored service.

Heather Perdue

Heather Perdue, MA, FAHP

In her role as Vice President of Campaigns and Philanthropy for the IU Health Foundation, Heather works alongside donors who are thinking intentionally about their giving and what it can do to change the landscape of healthcare and our communities in Indiana. She also leads IU Health’s first multi-year, system-wide philanthropic campaign.

In previous roles at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, she worked with national donors who care deeply about philanthropy and the role that it plays in our society, funding projects like the Million Dollar list, summits on International Disaster Philanthropy and the largest longitudinal study on American giving by household. She also worked in fundraising and program management for Riley Children’s Foundation. She received her Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University and double-majored in Communication Studies and Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations at Butler University. She became a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 2009 and received her Certificate in Fund Raising Management in 2007.

She serves on the board for Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County.
